Turnips 101 for Yankees

Ingredients:
  • Organically Certified "Purple Top" Turnips from Hilltop Farms. 1 to 2 Pounds

Directions:

Separate the leaves from the stems and the turnips from the stems, wash all of it and rinse. Put the leaves in a big pot with about 2 cups of water for about 10-15 bunches of turnips, cut the turnips into slices and put them in the pot with the leaves. Bring to a boil, turn the heat down and simmer 10-15 minutes or until the leaves/turnips are tender. Then chop it up. I add vinegar and salt, or whatever spices you want. Vinegar just seems to go perfectly with any type of greens. These are even better the second day!
